The President of Turkmenistan received the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia
On May 7, 2026, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Mariam Kvrivishvili, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a visit.
Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, Mariam Kvrivishvili noted that the Georgian side highly values the development of interstate relations with Turkmenistan. Taking the opportunity, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen People.
After warmly welcoming the guest and extending good wishes to the leadership of Georgia in return, the President of Turkmenistan noted the importance of the successive meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Georgian Commission on Economic Cooperation.
As emphasized during the meeting, Turkmenistan places great importance on strengthening relations with Georgia.
Interstate cooperation is developing not only bilaterally, but also within reputable structures, primarily the United Nations. A clear example of this is the practice of mutual support for initiatives put forward within international organizations.
One of the key aspects of the Turkmen-Georgian dialogue is trade and economic partnership. Positive results have been achieved in cooperation in energy, industry, and healthcare.
Transport and logistics are among the key areas of bilateral cooperation. Turkmenistan is systematically expanding its international transport corridor infrastructure. Our country's advantageous geographic location creates favorable conditions for connecting Asian countries with the Black Sea region and Europe. In this regard, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of implementing and advancing projects such as the Caspian Sea–Black Sea, Lapis Lazuli, and Green Port.
Noting the role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Georgian Commission on Economic Cooperation in enhancing trade and economic relations, the head of state expressed confidence that the results of its latest meeting would contribute to the consolidation of joint efforts.
The sides also emphasized the importance of cultural and humanitarian dialogue in strengthening bilateral ties, bringing our peoples closer together, and enriching each other's cultures.
Concluding the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Mariam Kvrivishvili expressed confidence in the further expansion and strengthening of constructive interstate cooperation in the interests of the friendly peoples of the two countries and exchanged best wishes.
