High-level Turkmen-Georgian talks: strengthening cooperation and new prospects
On 30 March 2026, within the framework of the official visit of the Turkmen delegation to Georgia, a meeting took place between head of the delegation N.Atagulyev and the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze.
N.Atagulyyev conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
During the meeting, the sides noted with satisfaction the steady progress in the development of friendly relations and constructive cooperation between the two countries. It was also emphasized that the parties have successfully cooperated in a multilateral format, in particular within the framework of the United Nations.
The participants of the meeting also discussed a range of pressing issues related to the further development of cooperation in the trade and economic, transport and energy, as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres. Special emphasis was placed on the pivotal role of high-level visits in deepening political dialogue and strengthening mutual trust between the countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining regular contacts at various levels and to continuing sustained efforts toward the practical implementation of the agreements reached.
On the same day, a meeting was held between Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan N.Atagulyev and the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Mariam Kvrivishvili.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral economic relations. Particular attention was paid to the expansion of trade and economic cooperation, the promotion of mutual investment, as well as the implementation of joint projects in priority areas.
The sides expressed interest in strengthening cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, the digital economy, and innovation, emphasizing the importance of creating favorable conditions for direct contacts between the business communities of Turkmenistan and Georgia.
The role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen–Georgian Commission on Economic Cooperation was particularly emphasized in coordinating bilateral interaction, ensuring a structured dialogue between relevant agencies, and implementing the agreements reached.
At the end of the meeting, the sides reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening bilateral cooperation and continuing constructive dialogue.
