During President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's state visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan made statements to the press.
Noting the special significance of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's state visit, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that fraternal Turkmenistan is an important and reliable partner of Kazakhstan.
Taking this opportunity, the President of Kazakhstan congratulated President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the entire Turkmen people on the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent Neutrality.
The policy of neutrality has earned Turkmenistan high prestige in the international arena and has become a symbol of its commitment to the ideals of peace, stability, and security, the Head of the friendly state noted.
As noted, a wide range of bilateral issues were discussed during the talks, and priority areas for further cooperation were outlined. Particular attention was paid to expanding trade and economic ties.
Transport and transit have currently acquired strategic importance. The Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway, which serves as a key link in the North-South transport corridor, plays a major role here, emphasized President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. It was also noted that agriculture is a key vector of cooperation.
The Head of the friendly country also emphasized joint projects in the energy sector.
It was emphasized that, given Kazakhstan's experience in digitalizing public services and implementing IT technologies, it has proposed that Turkmenistan implement joint projects in this area.
Cultural and humanitarian cooperation traditionally holds a special place in bilateral relations.
– The people of Kazakhstan warmly welcomed the Days of Turkmenistan Culture held in Astana and the unveiling of the monument to Magtymguly Fragi, timed to coincide with the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen thinker. The unveiling of the Abai monument in Ashgabat is another symbol of friendship and mutual respect between our peoples, said President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
As noted, the importance of developing comprehensive cultural cooperation, including festivals, tours, and other joint events, was emphasized during the talks. Prospects for developing scientific, educational, and youth ties were also discussed. Kazakhstan proposes exploring the possibility of opening a branch of a Kazakh university in Turkmenistan.
A shared vision and close positions on pressing regional and international issues were also confirmed.
"We are ready to continue to work closely with the Turkmen side to ensure stability, security, and sustainable progress on a regional and global scale. The Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia, as well as cooperation on Caspian Sea issues, are of great importance. Kazakhstan highly appreciates the events held by Turkmenistan as part of the International Year of Peace and Trust," said President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. In conclusion, the Kazakh leader reiterated his confidence that President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's current visit will significantly contribute to strengthening friendly Kazakh-Turkmen relations.

"We highly appreciate the results of the state visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan," the Head of state said, expressing his firm confidence that the agreements reached and documents adopted will contribute to the further development of bilateral relations. In this regard, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was thanked for the constructive talks, which took place in an atmosphere of openness, mutual trust, and understanding.
As noted, a wide range of bilateral issues were discussed during the talks, and views were exchanged on current aspects of the regional and international agenda of mutual interest.
"Particular attention was paid during the talks to strengthening global peace, stability, and security. The firm commitment of both countries to resolving all disputes and disagreements based on recognized norms of international law and the Charter of the United Nations was reaffirmed," the Head of state said.
During the discussion of bilateral relations, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov continued, considerable attention was paid to developing trade and economic cooperation.
Furthermore, the importance of further deepening contacts in the cultural and humanitarian spheres was reaffirmed.
It was noted that the Turkmen side expressed deep satisfaction with the results of the talks held today, which resulted in the signing of a substantial package of bilateral documents.
