Festive Events were held to mark the International Children’s Day
On 1 June 2026, festive events marking International Children’s Day were held across Turkmenistan.
In honour of this holiday, the esteemed President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent a congratulary address to the children and people of independent, neutral Turkmenistan.
A festive event was also held at the Ashgabat Park of Culture and Leisure in the capital.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry, and the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan, jointly with United Nations agencies and with the support of the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The speeches of the Head of Administration of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Executive Director – Vice President of the Charity Fund Rejep Bazarov, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Dmitry Shlapachenko, and UNICEF Representative in Turkmenistan Jalpa Ratna were heard at the opening ceremony.
The speakers emphasized that comprehensive care for the younger generation, their harmonious development and health, as well as ensuring quality upbringing and education, remains an unwavering priority of Turkmenistan’s state policy.
Particular attention was paid to the successful cooperation between the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), aimed at creating favorable conditions for the comprehensive development and well-being of children.
During the event, participants enjoyed lively performances by children from the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Center and the “Jahan” Creative Center. The festive atmosphere was enhanced by colorful theatrical performances, musical and dance presentations that showcased the talents, creativity, and artistic skills of the young participants.
A rich entertainment program was organized for children, including quizzes, competitions, educational games, and sporting activities, providing participants with joyful experiences, positive emotions, and unforgettable memories.
