The Heads of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan attended the opening ceremony of the Turkmen-Uzbek border trade zone

On November 17, 2025, during President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's state visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Heads of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan digitally participated in the opening ceremony of the Turkmen-Uzbek border trade zone.

The first speech was delivered by a representative of Uzbekistan – a resident of the Khorezm velayat – who expressed sincere gratitude to the Presidents of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan for the construction of this facility and requested their blessing for the opening of the Turkmen-Uzbek border trade zone.

Then the floor was then given to a representative of Turkmenistan, a resident of the Dashoguz velayat. After expressing deep gratitude to the Presidents of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, the resident of the Dashoguz velayat asked President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to bless the opening of the Turkmen-Uzbek border trade center.

Noting the significance of this historic event, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that the friendly Uzbek-Turkmen relations, rooted in centuries, are currently reaching a new level. Noting the enormous contribution of the National Leader of the Turkmen people to strengthening bilateral ties, the Head of the neighboring country blessed the opening of the Trade Center.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, congratulating the participants of the celebration on this historic event, gave his blessing to the opening of the Turkmen-Uzbek Border Trade Center.

At that moment, representatives of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan ceremoniously cut the ribbon at the entrance to the Turkmen and Uzbek sections of the Border Trade Center.
