Turkmenistan participates in the International Conference "Global Mountain Dialogue" in Bishkek

On April 24–25, 2025, the international conference “Global Mountain Dialogue for Sustainable Development: Towards the Bishkek+25 Summit” is being held in the city of Bishkek.

A delegation from Turkmenistan headed by the Minister of Environmental Protection Ch.Babaniyazov is taking part in the forum.

In his address, Minister Ch.Babaniyazov emphasized the importance of international cooperation in preserving mountain ecosystems, protecting biological diversity, and adapting to changing climate conditions. It was noted that under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, active efforts are being undertaken to expand the network of specially protected natural areas, including the initiative to establish new reserves in the Uly and Kichi Balkan mountain ranges.

Special attention was given to transboundary water cooperation, as well as joint work with the Republic of Uzbekistan on the preparation of a transnational nomination dossier for the inclusion of the Koytendag ecosystem complex in the UNESCO World Natural Heritage List.

On the sidelines of the conference, a meeting was held between the Minister Ch.Babaniyazov and the Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic M.Mashiyev.
