Meeting with the Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy

On 9 April 2025, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan A. Gurbanov met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Edmondo Cirielli.

The sides discussed the development of bilateral relations in political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian areas.

It was stressed that intergovernmental and interdepartmental contacts between Turkmenistan and Italy contribute to the strengthening of bilateral relations.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on the initiative to approve the ‘CA-Italy Multilateral Cooperation Networking Action Plan 2024-2025’, which covers issues such as energy transition, water resources, health, agriculture, higher education and transport.

The ways of increasing the volume of trade, economic and investment partnership were thoroughly discussed.

The oil and gas sector, railway industry, textile industry, agriculture and water sector were noted among the priority areas of bilateral interaction.

In addition, there is a mutual focus on the intensification of ties in the social sphere, particularly in the fields of education, archaeology and culture.
