The Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic presented copies of her credentials

On December 3, 2024, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to Turkmenistan (with residence in Moscow) Mrs. Ekaterini Xagorari.

Ambassador Ekaterini Ksagorari presented copies of her credentials to the Turkmen side and expressed gratitude for the hospitality.

During the meeting, the parties noted the interest of Turkmenistan and the Hellenic Republic to develop friendly bilateral relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields. 

The importance of cooperation within the framework of international structures, in particular the UN, the EU and others, was emphasized. In this regard, the sides discussed the possibilities of arranging meetings of the representatives of two countries on the international platforms for moving forward constructive multilateral ties.

In addition, the diplomats spoke about the significance of upcoming year 2025, which is announced by the United Nations General Assembly as the International Year of Peace and Trust.  The representatives of Greece are invited to participate in the events at various levels planned to take place in this symbolic year. 

Special emphasis at the meeting was made on collaboration in the field of education, science, sport and tourism.  The sides considered the opportunities of establishing collaboration between the institutions of higher education of two countries, in particular in the area of international relations and diplomacy.

In the end of the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova wished Ms. Ekaterina Xagorari success in her work and assured that the Turkmen side is ready to provide the necessary assistance in her diplomatic activities in order to develop Turkmen-Greek relations.
