The international conference and exhibition "International Transport and Transit Corridors: Interconnecti and Development - 2024" began their work in Ashgabat

On November 26, 2024, the international conference and exhibition "International Transport-Transit Corridors: Interconnectivity and Development - 2024" began their work in the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat, timed to coincide with the World Sustainable Transport Day.

The event, organized by the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, is attended by heads and specialists of specialized organizations of Turkmenistan, high-ranking delegates from dozens of countries, including representatives of international organizations specializing in transport and logistics.

The welcoming address of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the participants of the international conference and exhibition was heard with special attention.

As a result of implementing the transport and communications strategy, Turkmenistan is systematically strengthening its position as a major transport and logistics hub on a regional and international scale.

On May 16, 2023, at the 70th plenary meeting of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, on the initiative of Turkmenistan and with the unanimous support of the UN Member States, a Resolution was adopted declaring November 26 as World Sustainable Transport Day. It was on this day in 2016 that the first UN Global Conference on Sustainable Transport was held in Ashgabat.

The initiatives put forward by Turkmenistan over the past few years have found consistent support from the world community. This is clearly demonstrated by the six resolutions adopted by the UN General Assembly on the initiative of Turkmenistan, designed to give a qualitatively new impetus to cooperation in the transport sector.

The international conference was preceded by an exhibition of achievements in the transport and communications complex of Turkmenistan, which presented numerous stands reflecting the formation of a highly efficient transport infrastructure. Here are materials on promising projects that open up broad opportunities for international partnership in the transport sector, creating conditions for increasing investment activity and global trends in the development of the industry.

Sessions of the international conference are devoted to the integration of green technologies, digital transformation and multimodal transport to support environmentally friendly logistics and increase connectivity.

The work of the international conference and exhibition "International Transport-Transit Corridors: Interconnectivity and Development - 2024" continues.
